Durham Cathedral

I recently visited Durham Cathedral and was absolutely stunned by the Tom Denny window there; The Transfiguration.  Trained as a painter, his artistry and paintwork is superb.  The scale at which he works is incredible and the impact is show stopping.  I stood beneath it for a long time trying to drink in every detail, of which there is much, whilst also, holding on to the magnificence of the entire piece.  Did you ever get the feeling that you really want to do the things that you are absolutely not cut out to do?!!!!!!  Writer, ballerina, singer, scientist ..... and so it goes on.  But heck, I make bowls and I LOVE them!!!!  And, if you every find yourself in Durham, please join me (virtually) at the feet of Tom Denny's masterpiece.  And Happy Christmas!
