This piece represents an opening, or knotch, through which, new and unexpected events are seen.  The brightly coloured glass inserts are complemented by a dichroic triangle that reflects and refracts light in different ways according to the position from which you view it.  A deep, colbalt, blue 'shell' accentuates the sense that there is something 'inside'.

This bowl is shallow at a depth of 2 inches.  Its diameter is 14 inches.
